Currency

The Euro(EUR) is now the official currency of Andorra. Andorra's prior currency, the French Franc and the Spanish Peseta have now been phased out as legal tender and are no longer accepted.

Credit Cards

American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, Visa and others are all widely accepted, as well as Euro cheque cards. Many retailers require a minimum of Eur10 to EUR25 before accepting credit cards. Check with your credit or debit card company for details of merchant acceptability and other services which may be available.

Traveller's Cheques

Travellers cheques are accepted everywhere. To avoid additional exchange rate charges, travelers are advised to take travellers cheques in Euros.

Currency Regulations

There are no restrictions when entering or exiting the country, but French and Spanish authorities may carry out formalities on departure.
