The most commonly accepted credit cards in Canada are American Express, Bankcard, Diner's Club Card, Master Card, Visa Card, JCB and their affiliates. These cards can be used in Canada at ATMs, various retail outlets and most hotels provided they are enabled for international access. Banks in Canada have ATMs which can be accessed 24 hours a day.
The import and export of local and foreign currencies are free. Amounts over CAD$10,000 in local or foreign currencies in cash or monetary instruments must be reported to customs.

There are currency exchange facilities at all major airports and most hotels. There may be a small charge for cashing in Travellers Cheques.
Banking hours in Canada are generally Monday till Thursday 10am till 4.30pm and Friday 10am till 5pm or 6pm. Many banks are also open 9am till 12pm on Saturday.
