All major credit card are accepted but it is wise to carry cash especially when travelling away from Prague and the main tourist centres.
The most commonly accepted credit cards in the Czech Republic are American Express, Master Card and Visa. These cards can be used in the Czech Republic at ATMs, various retail outlets and most hotels.
Banks in the Czech Republic have cash machines (called Bankomats) which can be accessed 24 hours a day. Cards can be used in the Czech Republic at both cash machines and at most retail locations, as long as they have been enabled for international access.
A Customs Declaration is required if you are importing or exporting more than CZK200,000 or equivalent in either local or foreign currencies.

Travellers cheques and foreign currency can be exchanged at banks and bureau de changes and some hotels but a commission is generally payable.
The banking hours in the czech Republic are generally Monday to Friday 8am till 6pm.
