The Danish Krone is readily accepted in: Greenland and Faroe Islands.
American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are widely accepted, as well as Eurocheque cards. Check with your credit or debit card company for details of merchant acceptability and other services which may be available.
Can be cashed by banks and hotels, and can be used at most restaurants and shops. To avoid additional exchange rate charges, travellers are advised to take traveller's cheques in Euros, Pounds Sterling or US Dollars.
The import and export of all currencies are free. Declaration to customs is required when amounts exceed EUR15,000.
The import of foreign currencies is free but must be declared. The export of foreign currency cannot exceed the amount declared as imported.

There are plenty of ATMs scattered throughout Denmark. Personal cheques cannot be used by visitors to Denmark. Some banks may refuse to exchange large foreign bank notes.
