Iceland has three major banks that all provide money exchange services, these are Íslandsbanki, Landsbanki Ísland and Búnaðarbanki. These banks can be found in even the smallest of villages and most have cash machines that can be used 24 hours a day. travellers cheques are also accepted by all banks and most hotels.
The banking hours in Iceland are generally Monday to Friday from 9.15am to 4pm.
