Credit Cards

Currency Regulations

The import and export of all local and foreign currencies is free. However, in the near future you will need to declare amounts exceeding MTL5,000 or equivalent.

Currency Exchange

Money can be changed at banks, bureaux de changes, some hotels, and larger shops and restaurants. Automated foreign exchange machines and cash machines are available at various locations on the islands.

Banks in Malta are usually open Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. until 12.30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
