Travelling in Brazil

Brazil is the biggest country in South America. When you hear "Brazil," you think of the Amazon, rain forests, beaches, soccer players, and Carnival. But Brazil has much more than that to offer visitors, including friendly people and great cities. There is of course excellent property for sale in Brazil and an incredible mixture of cultures and races. It is well worth considering travelling in Brazil when you are planning your next holiday.

Carnival

There is no festival anywhere in the world like Carnival in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. The city explodes with music, dancing, parades, and parties during Carnival. This is the most exciting time to visit.

Cities to Visit

Most often visited in Brazil are Fernando de Noronha Island, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Sao Paulo. Salvador has narrow, cobblestone streets that are hundreds of years old. Sao Paulo, the huge, commercial centre of Brazil, is known for its hot clubs and pubs. Tourists also visit the old, colonial towns of Ouro Preto and Olinda. Brasilia, the current capital, is located in the interior of the country. Recife is located on the Gold Coast. It is known for its canals and bridges, museums and churches. Also of interest is the town`s old prison, which is now a shopping centre. One of Brazil`s most beautiful cities is the charming Sao Luis. It`s very colonial and has magnificent churches and palaces.

Scenery

Iguacu Falls is enjoyed for its gorgeous scenery. Iguacu Falls is considered to be one of the seven, natural Wonders of the World. The newest and most popular resort is Praia de Pina, in the northeast. The citizens have a laid back attitude and are extremely friendly and welcoming. This town is safer than some of the larger cities and has the first official naturist beach in Brazil. Nearby, rafting, diving, fishing, and hiking adventures are offered. The beaches of Mariscal, Garopaba, Taquaras, and Estaleiro are close to medium-sized cities.

Wildlife

Amazonia National Park covers seven of Brazil`s 27 states, almost 40% of the country`s land. It`s called "The Green Inferno." You can hike, bird watch, climb, and take boat trips along the river. The Amazon is a "must see" when visiting Brazil.

The Pantanal is one of the world`s renowned wildlife preserves. The area is still very rugged and not ideal for tourists, but is worth a visit to see the birds and take advantage of the best fishing in South America.

Conclusion

The next time someone mentions "Brazil," think of friendly people, the Amazon, rain forests, beaches, charming cities, incredible scenery, and of course Carnival. You may even recall the pubs and parties and its fabulous beaches. Very few people visit Brazil only once!
